RR研究会 has long been a standout circle, and not just because of their highly recognizable art and script style. Even in their earlier, fairly rough works, their ambition is plain to see. Compared to other RPG Maker devs who just haphazardly slot H-scenes into the gameplay, they seem to have a better grasp of what H-content a masochist actually needs. Built on that understanding, they've made plenty of fun games, and the common thread is masochism bound directly into the mechanics — during normal play, you're supposed to lose, and that's when the H-scenes show up. RR研究会 knows this craft inside out and stays consistent: immersive mechanics, expressive dialogue, varied scenes, and a respectable length — enough to make me look past the fact that every girl shares the same face. Avarice Dungeon is exactly that kind of work. The roguelike card gameplay isn't just trendy and fun — more importantly, it brings just the right amount of uncertainty. To win you have to struggle, and you never quite know if your struggle is working, which keeps the whole run full of fresh moments. H-content aside, the game stands on its own just fine — small, but complete.

A genuinely fun card game with some real depth and decent balance. The dev nailed a reasonable difficulty curve and kept battle lengths in check, so the whole thing flows pretty nicely. Building your own deck, figuring out strategies, and outsmarting opponents — super satisfying. The defeat penalties (those weakness debuffs) mean you can't just steamroll even after counter-strategizing. For me, losing, tweaking my deck, then losing again — that's the sweet spot. H-scenes are a mixed bag, but most have lively expression and a respectable length.

Carries over the high standard from the predecessor (Tower of Alfimia), but with a tighter runtime and even more impressive girls. Ditched the level drain stuff and the whole "grind trash mobs to level up" loop — fewer battles overall, much friendlier experience.

Solid plot progression, creative combat — lives up to the れこnote standard you'd expect. A step up from the original in almost every way, even the art. Don't let the seemingly childish art style fool you; these girls are genuinely quite sexy.

The fourth map is a sprawling maze with zero guidance — super easy to get lost. But overall the experience is decent, and the chase sequences are pretty thrilling. H-scenes are plentiful, varied, and creative.

Great art. Bright, cute girls and H-scenes — and a plot that's just as long, rich, and complete as those scenes. The narrative pacing is solid too, no dragging things out. The BF parts actually feel lively and intense visually thanks to the Live2D. Every map is huge though. To move the story forward you're stuck running around beating trash mobs over and over. The controls feel awful — you're piloting a character that can only shoot in four directions, basically swatting flies. And the dev seems way too proud of this gameplay.

Excellent little gem. The H-content of being seduced and defeated fits the gameplay perfectly. There are no standalone H-scenes — everything is woven right into the game flow, smooth and expressive. I didn't know how to play Reversi before this game. Just remembering corner > edge > center should be enough to enjoy the whole thing without any trouble.

The protagonist wears a hagoromo, as if he could actually fly. The jumping feels janky and the leniency is tight — thankfully, the dev had enough self-awareness not to cram in too much platforming. Combat is decently fun, and while some stages throw a lot of enemies at you, which can be a headache, it's not that bad next to other games in the genre. And since this is an RR研究会 title after all, the H-scenes are guaranteed quality.

Solid H-scenes with a ton of imagination — vivid and expressive on both the CG and text fronts. Gotta say the dev really knows how to write level drain stuff. The scenes for the main characters especially are impressive, and they chain together elegantly across multiple event sequences. That said, the story falls off pretty hard in the second half. Feels kinda half-assed after the arena, and the pacing gets dragged down by long, repetitive battles and all the running around. Without cheating, this game can be a real slog.

I can totally see why this game gets so much praise. The character design, narrative pacing, and map design all show a dev who really knows what they're doing. The overall polish is impressive — honestly pushing RPG Maker about as far as it can go. Unfortunately, the H-scenes are pretty mediocre, and the gameplay itself isn't much fun either. Everything takes a backseat to the story.

Thoughtful, fun, and creative.

Controls feel solid, and the action design is pretty refined and thorough. Maps are simple and straightforward, but man do they spam enemies at you. There's light progression stuff — gathering materials, crafting, permanent upgrades — which adds some variety. H-content isn't really my thing. The protagonist is basically just chasing girls around to fuck the whole time.

H-scenes are pretty similar to Succubus Duel — lots of seduction and level drain stuff, overall decent. The SRPG gameplay, though... not great. You can just dump all your EXP into the protagonist, charge him headfirst into the enemy, and call it a day. Honestly, that's the same problem every SRPG Studio game on this list has.

It's got a long story that isn't all that memorable, and as usual, the whole thing is told in a calm, restrained tone. The combat has some strategic depth to it, and compared to the earlier works, it's not as dull.

A turn-based game with a bit of creativity to it, but the mechanics lack depth and the enemy AI isn't too bright either, which makes the pretty lengthy playthrough drag into something dull.

Animated CGs, but playing it is exhausting.

The serious story, huge maps, and convoluted gameplay just wore down whatever anticipation I had for the H-scenes.
